THE House of Representatives will prioritize the passage of the P405.6-billion Bayanihan 3 bill before Congress’ sine die adjournment in June, House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez said.

The Committee on Ways and Means had approved Sections 34 and 35 — which are revenue provisions — of the measure.

Romualdez said the bill still has to go through the appropriations committee.

The 18th Congress will adjourn in June. Its third regular session will start on July 26.

House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco said the chamber will make the most out of the remaining weeks of the second regular session to pass a third round of the relief package and other related measures.

“We need to make sure we have economic stimulus laws to help our country bounce back better from this pandemic,” Velasco said in a statement Sunday.

“The House is ready to sit down with the Senate to make sure these measures become laws before we adjourn,” he said.

He said the proposed changes are “purely economic,” and “no political amendments will be entertained.”

Ako Bicol Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr., chairman of the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments, was quoted in a statement from Romualdez’s office as saying: “We still have seven interpellators. Hopefully before sine die adjournment, we will be able to vote on the measure on third reading.”

Velasco also said once session resumes, the House will approve at the plenary level the resolutions which concur with presidential proclamations granting amnesty to members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, Moro National Liberation Front, Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa ng Pilipinas/Revolutionary Proletarian Army/Alex Boncayao Brigade and former communist rebels.
