Young leaders who are creating a better world

HERE are four young leaders nominated at the Asia Leaders Awards 2021 with the objective to acknowledge honorable men and women who promote the Philippines as the premier business hub in Asia, who show leadership to peers and try to solve the problem of the country, and who demonstrate an outstanding achievement for the welfare of others.

As chief operating officer of Alfamart Trading Philippines, Harvey Ong handles more than 1000 branches nationwide with annual revenue of $350 million. Alfamart offers bills payment or ATMs, becoming one-stop shops for 24/7 safety and convenience.

Avin Ong is the 29-year-old chief executive officer of the Fredley Group of Companies with more than 1000 branches of Macao Imperial Tea and other brands. Filipinos with disabilities are employed by the company, and its employee rewards program subsidizes expenses and tuition fees for employees’ children.

Paragon Group of Companies Inc. Managing Director Renan Ponce Morales, known affectionately as “Bespren,” is the current president of the National Movement of Young Legislators in Region 3. He founded the Bestfriend ng Bayan Foundation, which provides assistance to rape victims, out-of-school youth, women caught in sex trafficking, senior citizens and the disabled.
