KIDAPAWAN HOLDS STRESS DEBRIEFING FOR FRONTLINERS

FRANZ R. SUMANGIL

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato: The city government of Kidapawan held a stress debriefing and management training activity for frontline health workers last Thursday with the aim of strengthening their morale and emotional well-being. After more than a year of battling against the Covid-19 pandemic, the local government unit acknowledged the health care workers’ rising stress levels. The activity also aimed to provide rest and breathing time for the medical frontliners. Aside from these frontliners being in close contact with virus-positive patients, there is also a chance that their lives are placed in danger, resulting in mental stress for them. The workers were given visual and cognitive exercises during the training to help them cope with the pressure brought about by their duties. The activity was spearheaded by Magdalena Bernabe, City Human Resource and Management Office head, and other members of the office who had targeted to include all 177 medical frontliners of the city government.
