Darren wows digital audience, ‘TnT P-Pop’ contestants

CONGRATULATIONS are in order for Darren Espanto’s successful staging of his very first virtual concert, “Home Run: The Comeback Concert,” which ran for two nights over the weekend.

Delivering on a promise to show a more mature image and sound, he definitely brought the digital house down in a repertoire of his most popular ballads and of course, his performance of “Tama Na,” an unexpected pop, hip-hop and R&B sound from the singer, which led a superb set of songs never-before-heard from the now 20-yearold OPM star. Clearly raring to be back at work after the long lockdowns, “The Voice Kids” discovery didn’t just wow the throng of digital viewers logged into Home Run, but all the more impressed the “Kabataang Pinoy” who are currently training to become the next big P-Pop (Pinoy Pop) group to bring local music to world.

Espanto is host of the all-new “TnT Pop Show,” which premiered on June 9 across the TnT microsite, Facebook account and YouTube Channel, featuring the journey of these young aspiring singers’ dream to hit the home run like him.

“I am happy and excited to be hosting the TnT PoP Show. Gaya din ng ilan, I pursued my dream to become a performer by joining different talent contests. I believe that more Kabataang Pinoy like me have what it takes to thrive in show business by sharing their talent and uplifting story.”

Livestreamed every Saturday at 5 p.m., Espanto further shines the spotlight on aspiring/up-and-coming influencers and how they use their influence to “spread

saya to others” in the “Pop Idol” segment; and joins the week’s “Popstars” in games and activities in “Pop Trip,” among other exciting content all in tune with hearts, mind, spirit and music of the young Filipino.
