Kyle Echarri sings of his ‘New Views’

MANY look to Kyle Echarri best member of the teen barkada artist group The Gold Squad, who have all earned plum spots in a number of hit ABS-CBN TV series. But before becoming the sought-after Gen Z actor that he is, his fans seem to forget that the good looking young man started out as a hopeful singer in “The Voice Kids Season 2” in 2015, where he landed in the Top 6 under Sarah Geronimo’s Team. Now 18 years old, Echarri hasn’t forgotten his passion for music and returns to his first love with the release of his second full-length album “New Views.” “I really wrote this album and I produced it,” the boy wonder said of his latest achievement during its virtual launch. “I made sure no one else touched it besides me because I want everyone to feel my heart throughout this whole album and see kung sino yung totoong Kyle Echarri to hear my kind of music, my views on life and love and who I am as a person.”

Released in time for his birthday on June 20 with a fancon to boot, the young artist said he had been working on new material for the past year in the lockdowns.

He hit a number of bumps along the way — among them collaborations he had long dreamed about — but with the unpredictable

situations the pandemic hurls every day, he is still happy with the album’s final outcome.

A major shift from his debut “It’s Me Kyle” in 2016, all seven original tracks in this ABSCBN Star Pop recording are “all me today,” according to the singer. Without giving away too much, he simply shared, “Basta it’s a different Kyle that you have never seen and heard before. I’m finally happy to able to share who I really am this time.” New Views features the key track “Liligawan Na Kita,” a writing collaboration among “Huwag Kang Mangamba” co-stars Seth Fedelin and Andrea Brillantes; “I’m Serious;” “Dyosa,” produced by JayR; “Mahal Nga Kita” featuring rapper Arvey; “Panaginip” from the original soundtrack of Gold Squad’s anthology series “Click, Like, Share;” “As Long As You’re Mine;” and “Fuego,” which he co-wrote with close friend Darren Espanto.

“As an artist, my confidence and my happiness has skyrocketed from when I was a kid. Kita niyo naman

sa ‘The Voice Kids,’ pumiyok pa ako sa Blind Auditions, pero ngayon I’m super happy with what I’m doing and I’m happy with how much I love myself and my music more than I did.”

“New Views” is now available across leading digital music streaming services.
