P3.5M worth of drugs seized in Bacoor City

BY DENNIS ABRINA

LOCAL authorities seized an estimated P3.5 million worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust in Bacoor City on Friday.

Col. Marlon Santos, Cavite Provincial Police director, identified the suspect as Jaymar Vinluan, 30, a high-value individual in the provincial drug list.

Santos said the joint buybust, conducted by the Bacoor police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority Cavite, resulted in the arrest of Vinluan at Barangay Habay 2, Bacoor City at 2:20 in the afternoon on Friday.

Vinluan was nabbed after selling to an undercover agent one medium-sized, heatsealed and transparent-plastic sachet, containing a white, crystalline substance, suspected to be shabu.

The operatives were able to confiscate 16 more mediumsized plastic sachets with suspected shabu, placed inside a black bag; a digital weighing scale; a notebook, containing details of the suspect’s transactions; one unit cellphone; the buy bust money; and other drug paraphernalia.

The operation yielded a total of 520 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P3,536,000.

The suspect is now under the custody of Bacoor police while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” will be filed against him.

Santos commended the operatives for the job well done and ordered his men to intensify intelligence monitoring on Vinluan’s drug network.
