DoH turns over 15 ambulances to Aurora

THE Department of Health (DoH) turned over a total of 15 ambulances and one patient transport vehicle to the province of Aurora.

In a statement, DoH Regional Director Corazon Flores said the aid came from a fund under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program, which aims to enhance the resilience of the health care system and the vigilance in managing current and future public health threats.

“With this initiative, we are aiming to lessen the delays in patient transfer from one facility to another; therefore, giving the patients coming to our care the immediate health interventions they need,” Flores said.

The municipality of Maria Aurora received one ambulance and one patient transport vehicle, and the rest of Aurora’s eight municipalities received two ambulances each.

The ambulances are supplied with medical equipment, instruments, accessories and peripherals needed to aid medical emergencies.

Aurora Rep. Rommel Rico Angara expressed gratitude for the Health department’s assistance.

“Despite the pandemic, I am grateful for [the] DoH because amid your several responsibilities, you included in your priorities these ambulances, which are much needed in our province,” Angara said.
