PHILIPPINe red Cross Chairman and Chief executive Officer Sen. richard Gordon reported that PrC will continue to support typhoon-affected communities in Catanduanes. the affected municipalities in Catanduanes were devastated by typhoon “rolly” on Nov. 1, 2020.

Since Sept. 1, 2021, PrC has already distributed 10,000 imported corrugated galvanized iron (CGI) sheets to 1,000 families in the Municipalities of Gigmoto, Baras, Bato and San Andres. the affected families also received one set of shelter toolkits to fix and maintain their homes for future natural disasters.

rolly made its first landfall over Bato, Catanduanes and the second landfall in tiwi, Albay — eventually affecting an estimate of more than 800,000 families from 33 provinces nationwide.

the Philippine red Cross was first on the ground with the local red Cross Chapter, responding immediately after the typhoon made landfall. the PrC helped more than 12,000 families with medical tents, food and non-food relief, cash assistance,

clean water, and hot meals. the rolly operations also marked the first humanitarian voyage of the M/V Amazing Grace.

PrC partnered with the Hong

Kong Government, Hong Kong red Cross Society, and the International federation of red Cross and red Crescent Societies for this outreach program.
