BY WILLIAM B. DEPASUPIL

MORE than 15,000 local and overseas jobs are up for grabs during the 88th foundation anniversary celebration of the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) on Monday.

Labor Undersecretary Renato

Ebarle on Saturday invited jobseekers to take advantage of the event, which offers a wide range of vacancies from almost 200 domestic and foreign companies and licensed recruitment agencies.

The Labor department’s anniversary job fair will be held on December 6 and 7 with an initial offering of 15,500 local and overseas job opportunities.

Of the number,12,600 are local while 2,900 are overseas jobs from 189 participating employers.

Ebarle said the figure is expected to further increase by several thousands prior to event.

“The celebration will be simple but meaningful to all our stakeholders,” Ebarle said.

The job fair will be held at Muralla corner Luna Street, near the DoLE offices in Intramuros, Manila.

Ebarle advised jobseekers to be ready with copies of their resume or curriculum vitae and other application requirements, such as certificate of employment for those formerly employed, diploma and transcript of records.

There are also career talks with employers and industry leaders aimed to help job applicants find unique opportunities and vacancies, as well as encourage a better understanding of each company’s work culture.
