KABACAN UNDER STATE OF CALAMITY
The municipality of Kabacan in North Cotabato has been placed under a state of calamity due to heavy rainfall that poured in the town during the first week of November. The said resolution was based on the assessment conducted by Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer David Don Saure in the flooded areas in Kabacan. Around 2,071 families were affected by the torrential rain, and 485.55 hectares of agricultural land were destroyed in the villages of Cuyapon, Lower Paatan, Magatos, Kilagasan, Bannawag and Kayaga. The local government of Kabacan, headed by Mayor Herlo Guzman Jr., was now preparing the financial assistance to be provided for the families affected by the flood.
