WINS FOR CHUA BROTHERS, FORMER TV CHILD STAR

NOVELETA, Cavite: The Chua brothers of Cavite, allies of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio, secured three elective posts in the recently held elections.

Incumbent Mayor Dino Chua of Lakas-CMD was proclaimed winner of the mayoral race in Noveleta town with 19,260 votes against his archrival former mayor Enrico Alvarez with 6,656 votes.

Dino, the eldest among the brothers, ran for a third term in office.

In Cavite City, the youngest among the Chua siblings, incumbent Vice Mayor Denver Chua won the mayoral race by a landslide with 31, 782 votes over his rival Cavite City Federation of Barangay chairman Apple Paredes, daughter of incumbent Mayor Bernardo “Totie” Paredes, who garnered 24,240 votes.

Denver ended the 18-year reign of the Paredes clan who ruled the city from 2001 to 2022.

Davey Chua was also proclaimed as the topnotcher among provincial board member candidates for the first district of Cavite.

He garnered 120, 878 votes versus the 65,340 votes obtained by Rommel Enriquez.

The Chuas come from a wellknown business clan in Cavite, with interests in airlines, hotels, petroleum, realty developments, schools and food, among others.

Former young actor Nash Aguas, 23, won a city council seat, taking the No. 2 spot in the 10-man body. Aguas got 29,600 votes. Topnotcher was Mau Lu with 30,171 votes, followed by Edmund Tirona, 28,629 votes; Renan Montoya, 27,633 votes; Marrina Pinzon, 27,158 votes; Jun Noverop, 27,060 votes; Doods Nuguid, 26,647 votes; Jet Barrera, 26,511 votes; Marc Serrano, 25,594 votes; and Mar Amparo, 24,902 votes.
