CONCEDE, ESPERON URGES ROBREDO

FRANCIS EARL CUETO

NATIONAL Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. has called on Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo to concede in the wake of the overwhelming lead of presidential candidate and presumptive president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“She should concede and find a way to serve the nation in many ways. She must now put herself as the leader of the opposition and contribute to nation-building,” Esperon said.

On Tuesday, Robredo called on her supporters to stay calm as she thanked them for their contribution and for supporting her fight.

Presidential candidates Leodegario “Ka Leody” de Guzman, Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Sen.

Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso have conceded defeat to Marcos Jr.

Esperon urged the critics of Marcos Jr. to respect the results of the elections, adding that if they have proof of massive cheating then they should show evidence.

“Hindi niyo ba nakikita? 30 million versus 14 million? ... Nagsalita na ang tao. Ibinoto nila ang gusto nilang iboto. Wala ba kayong respeto sa mga bumoto kay Marcos na 30 million (Can you not see? 30 million versus 14 million? The people have spoken. Don’t you have any respect for those who voted for Marcos)?” he asked.
