PASAY City Mayor Imelda Gallardo Calixto-Rubiano has declared June 30 a special non-working holiday.

Calixto-Rubiano issued the order following the appeal of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to local government units adjacent to Manila, to declare a holiday to allow their residents to witness the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at the National Museum.

“This is in response to the PNP’s call and for the safety of our countrymen due to the closure of some major roads in connection with the oath-taking of President Bongbong Marcos Jr.,” Rubiano said in Filipino in a social media post.

Manila has previously declared June 30 a special non-working holiday.

A special non-working holiday is not a paid holiday. Workers who reported for work will be paid an additional 30 percent of their regular rate.
