Police hit for failure to solve robberies

GENERAL SANTOS CITY: Residents here have criticized policemen in the city for failure to arrest robbers.

Chan Sui Lam, owner of KCC Mall, over the weekend said it was shameful that the local police were unable to arrest the suspects who last Friday held up students and other civilians.

“We, as businessmen, are worried much about our daily operations. We just received a report that a fellow businessman was shot dead by robbers and another was shot and also robbed later. But police authorities were doing nothing but just investigating without arresting the criminals,” Lam said.

A police report showed that the college students and two businessmen were held up last week, but lawmen, allegedly, failed to respond to the incidents despite calls made by concerned citizens in nearby areas where the crimes were committed.

Residents have called on BGen. Alexander Tagum, Region 12 (Soccsksargen) police director, to take immediate action to solve criminality in General Santos City.
