DoST info institute places 3rd in GAD Mainstreaming Awards

THE Department of Science and Technology-Science and Technology Information Institute (DoSTSTII) bagged the third place for the Agency Category of the Gender Mainstreaming Awards of DoST.

The award was given and received by no less than DoST-STII Director Richard Burgos during DoST’s 64th Anniversary: Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat, held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City on June 13.

The DoST GAD Mainstreaming Awards is an incentive program of the department which aims to recognize deserving DoST regional offices, attached agencies and Philippine Science High School campuses for their outstanding performance in gender mainstreaming and effective implementation of gender-responsive science and technology programs.

All winners from each category, namely DoST Agency Category Regional Office Category, and Philippine Science High School (PSHS) Campus Category have received a trophy and cash prize.

The DoST-STII was awarded third place in the DOST agency category. The DoST- Science Education Institute (SEI) was awarded as the most outstanding office in GAD mainstreaming, followed by the DoST-Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) getting the second place.

Meanwhile, DoST-Region 7, DoSTRegion 2, and DoST-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), respectively were the winners for the Regional Office Category while PSHS-Soccsksargen, PSHS-Central Mindanao and PSHS-Central Visayas bagged the awards for the PSHS Campus Category, respectively.

The DoST-STII continues its gender mainstreaming to respond to gender issues and GAD Mandates in the organization, especially with its 2022 GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) endorsement by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), its third endorsement, and with the approval of the DoST-STII 2021-2026 GAD Agenda.

DoST-STII will conduct training needs assessments, surveys, focus group discussions and meetings with its stakeholders to include their perspective, needs and interests in developing programs and projects of the organization.
