Fernando supports veto of HB 7575

FREDERICK SILVERIO

BULACAN Gov. Daniel Fernando on Monday said that he supported the decision of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to veto House Bill (HB) 7575, the bill seeking the creation of the Bulacan Airport City Special Economic Zone and Freeport.

Fernando said the President’s move is for the better, and it is also his vision to further study and correct the proposals contained in HB 7575.

“Tama naman at dapat ay rebyuhin ito, tingnan muna at rebisahin at wala naman masama sa intensyon ni Pangulong Marcos at nirerespeto natin ang kanyang pahayag (I think it’s right that we review the proposed bill. President Marcos has the right intentions and we respect his decision),” Fernando said.

FERNANDO ALSO CLARIfiED THAT THE President’s veto on the special economic zone and freeport will not affect the P740-billion airport being built on a 2,500-hectare land in Taliptip.

THE TOP OFfiCIAL OF BULACAN ADDED that this will also not affect the foreign businessmen who want to invest in the province.

“Wala ako nakikitang dahilan para umatras ang mga investors. Unang-una, tuloy naman ang airport at marami pang mga lugar sa Bulacan na maaaring pagtayuan ng negosyo (I see no reasons why investors will back out. First of all, the airport project will push through and besides, there are a lot of places in Bulacan to put up a business),” Fernando said.
