New Silang mayor declares changes

DENNIS ABRINA

SILANG, Cavite: The first flag ceremony of the newly elected officials of Silang was held at the old Silang Municipal Hall in Barangay Poblacion on Monday, July 4.

Elected Mayor Kevin Anarna along with Vice Mayor Ted Carranza and councilors led the flag ceremony that was immediately followed by the inaugural session of the municipal board.

Anarna urged government employees to render friendly service to residents and visitors of the town.

“Papaigtingin po natin ang laban kontra korapsyon dito sa bayan ng Silang. Ayaw na ayaw ko po may empleyado na tatanggap kahit kanino para sa pabor (We will intensify the fight against corruption here in Silang town. I don’t want any employee to accept anyone for favors),” he said.

“Ang ating pamahalaan po ay magiging transparent, tayo po ay magkakaroon ng public bidding na naka-Facebook Live, tapos na ‘yung bidding-biddingan o better known as bogus bidding (Our government will be transparent, we will have public bidding on Facebook Live, and the fake bidding is over),” Anarna said.

“Next week, we will transfer to our new municipal hall in Barangay Biga after some repair work. Some of the departments will maintain their operations here until the new ones are properly working in the new site,” he said.
