ANGELES CITY CIRCUMCISES 3,200 BOYS

THE city government of Angeles reported on August 8 that 3,228 boys, ages 10 to 17, availed of the free circumcision program of Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr.

Dubbed “Magpatuli para Pogi ” (Get circumcised to become handsome), the program was conducted in six Rural Health Units (RHUs) from July 4 to 28. It was supervised by Lazatin’s chief adviser IC Calaguas and executive assistant Reina Manuel in coordination with City Health Officer Dr. Verona Guevarra and Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles.

The program was launched by Lazatin to cater to the needs of Angeleños, especially the indigents.

Out of the 3,228 boys, 351 had their free circumcision in RHU 1, 837 in RHU 2, 443 in RHU 3, 545 in RHU 4, 407 in RHU 5, and 655 in RHU 6.

Thirty midwives, nurses and doctors from the City Health Office and Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center headed by Dr. Froilan Canlas led the Operation Tuli. The GAD office also served as the support staff.
