BACOOR CITY, Cavite: A minor died while three were injured when a tricycle collided with a 6-wheeler truck on Thursday, August 11, on Tirona Highway, Barangay Dulong Bayan here. According to Cpl. Kelvin Kenneth Casaman, officer on the case, one Mitsubishi 6-wheeler truck driven by Thomas Padreque, 38, was traveling on the inner lane of the road heading toward Aguinaldo Highway direction while the Motorstar Kamao tricycle from the outer lane changed to the inner lane of the road heading towards Kawit at 3 a.m. The two vehicles collided, causing the smaller vehicle to turn over. The passengers of the truck, Edzel Canatuan, Antoinette Asim and Jefferson Vilog were injured while Marlon Acqueen sustained a severe head injury and died instantaneously. A rescue ambulance from BDRRMO arrived and treated the injured while Padreque was rushed to Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital but was later transferred to St. Dominic Hospital. The investigation showed that the driver of the tricycle had no driver’s license at the time of the accident.
