Lenovo to go into data center services

TECHNOLOGY company Lenovo, through its Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), plans to increase its business services in the Philippines by focusing on the emerging data center niche.

Kumar Mitra, Lenovo Central Asia Pacific regional general manager, said the Philippines’ digital transformation is also one of their priorities in developing new business in the country.

“As the Philippines’ digital transformation has been accelerated toward the latter phase of the pandemic, we see the next phase of the digital transformation will be at the data centers, at the back end of enterprises where customers will keep looking for a similar cloud type experience that resonates with them,” Mitra said. “The Philippines is such a huge opportunity market for us from a growth perspective as we think the greatest sector that will grow here will be data center reorganization.”

Sumir Bhatia, Lenovo Data Center Group-Asia Pacific president, and Clark Popple, Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group country manager, presented their various services, SMART solutions and how they intend to build partnerships with emergent technology companies in the country.

“Partnerships have always been in our DNA. We have built these, both here in the Philippines and the rest of the world. And through these partnerships, we establish an innovation which creates an excellent solution for all parties involved. We wish to grow that more here,” Bhatia said.

“As we are not new here in the country, with our various smart technology solutions, such as cloud computing, analytics and AI (artificial intelligence), edge computing, and other related services, such as our Lenovo Truscale, and with our various partners here, we believe in the potential of the data center and ISG businesses here in the Philippines as it continues to garner interest,” Popple added.
