150 BI posts up for grabs

BY JOMAR CANLAS

MORE than 150 positions are up for grabs at the Bureau of Immigration (BI). Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said that the bureau is looking for a “new breed” of personnel who will be deployed in various ports and offices nationwide.

“The manpower augmentation is part of the agency’s move to ensure improvement of our services to the traveling public, especially now that the country is on its way to recovery,” Tansingco said.

He said that the bureau is in need of officers who have the passion and patriotism for public service.

The BI has 147 slots available for immigration officers.

Another 28 posts are open for administrative aides.

“This is how we evolve with the changing times.

We need to keep our frontlines fervent so as to guarantee efficiency in our ports,” Tansingco said.

Applicants will undergo several examinations and interviews.

Tansingco admitted that the selection process is rigorous, “but this is how we make sure that we get the best officers to man our borders.”

Those interested may submit their applications through the bureau’s career portal at careers.immigration.gov.ph not later than September 30.
