BIR receives CSC commendation for complaints handling

THE Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), under the leadership of Commissioner Lilia Catris Guillermo, received another commendation from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for landing on the third spot among 10 other government agencies with the highest resolution rate on complaints handling for the period January to June 2022.

Per the report of the Contact Center ng Bayan (CCB), the BIR has received a total of 112 referrals on citizen’s concerns from the CSC for the said period. Out of the said number, only 34 or 30 percent are classified as complaints against the BIR.

Most of the citizen’s concerns (70 percent or 78 concerns) about the bureau, coursed through the CCB, are requests for assistance, related to the services of the BIR; queries about taxation; comments and suggestions regarding tax policies; and commendations for the laudable performance of identified BIR officials and employees.

CONTRIBUTED POSTER acted upon and resolved, including all the other 78 citizen’s concerns mentioned above; thus, earning the bureau a 100-percent resolution rate for all the citizen’s concerns, referred to the agency from January to June 2022.

“These BIR-related complaints and concerns received from taxpayers play a vital role in helping the bureau further improve its processes and delivery of services to our taxpaying public”, Guillermo said.
