Is there hope for a JasonMoira reconciliation?

IS singer-songwriter Jason Marvin Hernandez wooing back his estranged wife Moira de la Torre through his latest song?

Consider the lyrics of his newly released ditty “Ako Na Lang:”

"Tanggap ko nang ayaw mo na sa akin/ Patawad at nasaktan ka/ Tanggap ko nang ‚di mo na kaya na manatili pa/ Hanggang saan ko pa ilalaban ‘to?/ Hanggang kailan maniniwala na dapat tayo?“

While the first stanza speaks of hope — albeit too little — the next lines are one of acceptance and resignation over the end of a relationship. Here goes:

"Hindi ko ipipilit ang sarili ko sa ‘yo/ Dito pala natatapos ang ikaw at ako Maraming salamat sa mga alaala mo/ Sana ang aking kasunod ay maibigay lahat ng pagkukulang ko/ Patawad, paalam sa iyo.”

The day before this was released on YouTube and Spotify, Jason shared the inspiration behind his composition “in a hopeless romantic way.”

Even sans further explanation, it’s pretty obvious that Jason’s first person reference in the song is no less than himself.

In hindsight, Jason confirmed the breakup with Moira in May this year after he confessed to have cheated on her during their three-year marriage.

Taking full responsibility for the stupid mistake, Jason promised to “try my best to be better.”

While the lyrics are "swak na swak,“I believe that Jason could have given it a more apt title.

Anyway, will Moira take this song to mean her estranged husband’s subtle way of saying “Let’s give our marriage another chance”?

Is it Jason’s intention in the first place?

TO some, 15-year difference between two people madly in love with each other can be a yawning chasm. But not for Edu Manzano, 67 and Cherry Pie Picache, 52.

Theirs is a sequel to a quiet yet decent romance some 20 years ago.

Little did Cherry Pie think she’d end up with Edu again when a lot of things got in between.

I can’t help but have these giddy moments (yes, at my age!) every time I see this couple together — whether in pictures or on vlogs.

There’s something about this meant-to-be pair which makes you want to fall in love again. Oh, I just love the casual stroking as if reliving their teenage years.

“Hon” (short for honey) is what Edu and Pie address each other as though they were husband and wife.

Edu turned 67 last September 14. In her text, Pie called her “my good-looking man, but most importantly, a good human being.”

She ended her greeting with “Hon ko“as if someone out there would snatch Edu from her.

Prior to that, some naysayer wished that Pie would be Edu’s last girl "kasi ang tanda mo na!”

For sure, such comment didn’t come as a pebble in Edu’s shoe.

Seeing Edu and Pie (at their age) both happy, fulfilled and ecstatic, who wouldn’t want to be married?

But is wedding on the horizon? Hopefully.
