NLEx Connector to benefit Central Luzon traders

THE first phase of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) Connector Road which was inaugurated on Monday will serve as another route for trade transportation to the National Capital Region coming from Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, and other provinces in Region 2 like Cagayan and Isabela.

The 5-kilometer elevated expressway is expected to improve mobility to residents, travelers and traders.

The opening of the NLEx Connector CaloocanEspaña Section will speed up the transport of goods to Metro Manila.

The inauguration rites of the Caloocan España Section was led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Also present were Public Works and Highways Secretary Manuel Bonoan and Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, as well as Metro Pacific Investments Corp. and Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) Chairman Manuel Pangilinan, MPTC President Rodrigo Franco, and NLEX Corp. President J. Luigi Bautista.

“The NLEx Connector is expected to spur economic development in Metro Manila and nearby provinces as it eases Metro Manila’s traffic congestion, increases productivity, improves logistics, and boosts communities. We continue to focus on our goal of delivering infrastructure that will facilitate a greater connection between the north and the south,” Pangilinan said.

With entry and exit ramps at C3 Road and España, the new elevated expressway will cut travel time between Caloocan and Manila and vice versa to just five minutes.

The improved connectivity will also make daily commuting to and from Metro Manila and nearby provinces more efficient. .

To reach the NLEx Connector, vehicles coming from the central part of Luzon will enter the west side of Mindanao Avenue of the Smart Connect Interchange to reach the NLEx Harbor Link.
