THE Department of Health (DoH) said the donated shipment of bivalent vaccines that will arrive soon will be allotted for health workers and senior citizens.

DoH Officer in Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire said in a memorandum dated March 31 that the Food and Drug Administration has given an emergency use authorization for the bivalent vaccine made by Pfizer.

The Health Technology Assessment Council has recommended the use of bivalent vaccine as first, second or third booster dose for health workers, senior citizens, and adults with comorbidities, including those with immunocompromised conditions.

Current Covid-19 vaccination policies will be the same for bivalent vaccine administration.
