BEN Adamos may be coming off career-low numbers in his recent stint with Phoenix. But with the latest trade that saw him land at NLEX, the 6-foot-6 native of Albay sees this latest move as a way to revitalize his pro career.

“I’m really looking forward (to my new team) and ready to perform and give my best every game,” said the 27-year-old Adamos in Filipino in an interview with The Manila Times, just a few days after being sent by Phoenix to NLEX in exchange for 6-foot-7 Tzaddy Rangel and veteran guard Reden Celda.

The sixth overall pick in the 2021 PBA Draft is also happy to be reunited with NLEX coach Frankie Lim, his college mentor for two seasons while playing for the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta.

Under Lim’s guidance, Adamos saw his collegiate numbers rise as he registered 11.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in his final year for Perpetual Help before joining the PBA draft.

Before playing for the Altas, Adamos started at Technological Institute of the Philippines and transferred to San Beda where he played in the NCAA Seasons 92-93. His numbers there were not impressive back then, given the talent in the Red Lions roster.

And while he’ll be playing for his fourth team heading to just his third season in the pro league, Adamos considers each move as a chance to grow further.

“[Just] being a coachable player as well as being disciplined in my game. I train everyday to improve myself and have a growth mindset, always ready to move forward and give everything I can to the team,” added Adamos, who only averaged 1.38 points in 3.5 minutes of action for the Fuel Masters in the recent PBA Governors’ Cup.

At NLEX, Adamos is expected to contribute at the front court right away.
