MOVE IT INTRODUCES UPGRADED MOBILE APP

ANDY SEVILLA

MOVE IT, the third and newest player in the burgeoning motorcycle-taxi business in the country, unveiled its upgraded mobile app last week to ensure fast, safe and reliable services to both its riders and passengers.

Hailed to set a new benchmark for motorcycle taxi services, the upgraded mobile app guarantees 99.5-percent working hours that ensures seamless booking experience for users, especially during peak hours.

Wayne Jacinto, general manager of Move It, said the company’s commitment to efficient transportation solutions is aimed at providing uninterrupted services to both passengers and rider-partners.

“We know the hardship of our kababayans (countrymen) in going to and from the offices because of the lack of transportation. This is where Move It is coming in as we provide them with a very reliable transportation alternative. By partnering with Grab Philippines more than two years ago, Move It was able to come up with an upgraded mobile app that adapts to the real situation on the ground today,” he said.

Jacinto introduced Samir Kumar, the head of Grab Mobility, who presented the various features of the upgrade app via online.

“Move It is now enjoying an array of cutting-edge technology that is being provided by Grab. We also guarantee it crash-free even during the high-volume hours,” said Kumar.

According to Kumar, Move It’s upgraded mobile app is now harnessing the power of Grab’s mapping and routing navigational system, which is updated regularly and precisely through the help of their regular riders. “Newly opened or newly closed roads are pinpointed accurately. Our exclusive in-house navigational system is built exclusively for Grab, and is now being used by Move It,” he added.

Kumar also cited the inclusion of VOIP that enhances the seamless booking experience of their customers together with the usual facial authentication of the driver. “Our upgraded app also now has an exclusive 24/7 safety center that is open and ready to offer assistance in case of any emergency to our riders and customers,” Kumar said.

Another new feature, according to Kumar, is Share-My-Ride where the user can share the details of his ride even from the time of pick-up up to the time of arrival to their destination. “We know that safety is utmost to our customers, that’s why this new feature will give them and their respective family the peace of mind while they are in transit,” said Kumar.

Cashless payment through debit or credit cards is also being accepted through the upgraded app and very soon, Kumar said that other e-wallet options would be incorporated.

As of now, Move It has more than 100,000 app users and Jacinto said that they are aiming for a 1-million figure by the end of the year.

Move It has already 6,500 riders plying regularly on its Metro Manila route and Jacinto said that they will surely hit the 15,000-rider mark set as capped by the Land Transportation Office Working Group that is supervising the pilot study of the motorcycle taxi program in the country. The other two platforms are Angkas and Joy Ride.
