PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. bared his plan of keeping former Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) secretary Erwin Tulfo part of his administration “in another capacity.”

Marcos was forced to replace Tulfo after the latter failed to get the nod of the Commission on Appointments over questions on his citizenship and a previous conviction for libel.

“We have other plans for him,” the Chief Executive said in a televised interview Monday night, dispelling rumors the former hardhitting broadcaster will be named as a presidential adviser.

He added that the government could benefit with someone like Tulfo onboard given his “good instincts when it comes to social service.”

“At the time that he was running the DSWD, he did a very good job. So, we can’t lose that kind of asset,” the President said.

Another former media man, Eduardo Punay, took over Tulfo’s duties in an interim capacity.

Marcos has yet to name a fulltime DSWD secretary.

Meanwhile, the President also confirmed designating former Presidential Management Staff head Zenaida Angping as Ambassador to France and Monaco.

“She has not held formally a diplomatic position, but she has been working with the foreign service for years,” he added.

Angping, Marcos said, has experience in foreign service, having worked at the Philippine Embassy in the United States and China.
