A MEMBER of the Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group (PNP-AVSEGroup) was commended by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) for returning P200,000 in cash to its owner.
CAAP Director General Jim Sydiongco said CMS. Julie Antor did an “admirable act”.
Antor found a bag stuffed with the money and electronic items at the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport, also known as Tacloban City Airport, on May 7, 2022.
The items were subjected to rigid inspection by the PNP Explosive Division before the airport authorities contacted the owner who was identified as Roderick Codog, a passenger who arrived from Manila.
The Tacloban City Airport, located in a highly urbanized city in Leyte, is operated by the CAAP.
“The event was an admirable act and is the result of coordination and a good working environment that promotes honesty. I believe both the PNP AVSEGroup and CAAP will continue to work toward making our airports a safe and trustworthy space,” Sydiongco said.
The honesty of Antor, who is assigned at the Tacloban City Airport, was discussed during Sydiongco’s meeting with the new AVSEGroup director, BGen. Andre Dizon.
