which requires large companies to adopt and implement policies for the proper management of plastic waste, especially single-use plastics (SUP), we launched our very own SUP Free Program to guide our employees to be more responsible consumers and help reduce plastic pollution.

EMS Group is also one of the newest members of NEDA SC-SDG from the private sector and part of the Economic Technical Working Group, where we hope to provide recommendations to ensure an efficient review and implementation of the SDGs in the Philippines across all sectors through the development of strategic and indicator frameworks.

In this year’s 49th Philippines Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E), chaired by visionary architect Felino Palafox Jr., happening on October 25-26, discussions will center on the plans and strategies of the country in achieving Vision 2050. This ambition perfectly aligns with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which aims to promote inclusivity and ensure that “no one is left behind.”

EMS Group is one with the industries in achieving a one-planet economy because we believe that we can only have a thriving economy when we have a healthy environment. And even though the fruits of our efforts are yet to be seen by future generations, our commitment to sustainable development is unwavering.

This is why this year’s PBC&E will definitely be one of the most anticipated conferences ever. We will be hearing from distinguished experts, policymakers, and other stakeholders about the strategies and action plans toward Vision 2050 — with the Philippines having a thriving sustainable economy by then.

The Philippines has a long way to go before it can become a First World economy; however, we have made significant progress in recent years. The PBC&E, happening at the Manila Hotel on October 2526, will be a valuable opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
