BALANGA CITY: The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) on Friday, November 17, turned over to the Bataan provincial government the first tranche of a capitation fund for the Bataan Primary Care Provider Network (PCPN) Konsulta Sandbox.
PhilHealth President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Ledesma Jr. handed the check worth P114,685,541.24 to Bataan Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia 3rd at The Bunker in a simple ceremony witnessed by mayors Tony Raymundo of Orion, Robin Tagle of Abucay, Bondjong Pascual of Orani and Francis Garcia of Balanga City.
“This is a big help to our constituents who need medical services, especially for consultations, additional health workers, medicine and others related to the health care of Bataeños,” said Governor Garcia.
“You can be assured that the funds will be allocated to promote Universal Healthcare which is part of Bataan’s goal to make every family healthier and stronger,” the governor added.
From five Konsulta providers in 2021, Bataan has now 31 accredited ones.
PhilHealth said the 20 rural health units in Bataan are included in the Bataan PCPN Konsulta Sandbox as one of the seven pilot sites in the Philippines.
