LEGAZPI CITY: Four teachers in Camarines Sur were molested in Ocampo town while preparing for Brigada Eskwela.

The incident took place on Monday, August 8, but was reported a day after the incident. The Philippine National Police in Camarines Sur is on the hunt for the armed suspect who allegedly molested and robbed the four teachers inside a school in Ocampo town.

Maj. Reynaldo Balindan, Ocampo chief of police, said the armed suspect entered the teachers’ office with his face covered.

Balindan refused to identify the name of the school.

An initial report said the suspect first declared a hold-up and took the cellular mobile phones and cash of the teachers before molesting them in an isolated area of the school campus. Police withheld the names of the victims.

Mayflor Jumamil, DepEd Bicol spokesman, refused to issue a statement regarding the reported molestation of four teachers in Ocampo town.

She said the director Gilbert Saddad did not authorize her to discuss or give any statements on the matter.

“Rest assured that the DepEd central office will be informed about the case which is now being handled by the PNP,” she said.

The Department of Education in Bicol launched the Brigada Eskwela campaign on August 11 as part of its preparations for school year 2022-2023.
