A DETAINEE was killed while seven others were wounded after two warring gangs clashed on Friday afternoon inside the Quezon City jail.

An initial report from the Kamuning Police Station (PS-10) said it has yet to establish the identity of the slain Person Under Philippine National Police Custody (PUPC) and the seven injured.

The riot took place at the Bernardo Compound inside the city jail at 3 p.m., police said.

The lone fatality was said to have been shot by sumpak, an improvised shotgun, police said.

Police said the riot erupted between members of the Batang City Jail and Commando Group.

Reports said the clash was stopped with the arrival of lawmen from PS-10 and members from the Special Weapons and Tactics.
