THE Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) has confirmed a viral video where two of its students were involved in an incident. “An incident involving two AdDU junior high school students was recorded on video and circulated on social media,” according to a statement on Friday that was posted on its Facebook account. “School authorities have met with these students and their parents, and an investigation is ongoing.” The school did not say what the video showed but that they were working on the implementation of interventions based on their discipline code, as well as the Department of Education’s Child Protection Policy and the Data Privacy Act of 2012. “We ask everyone to respect the privacy of the students and their families and to avoid engaging in misinformation,” the university wrote. “Rest assured that the AdDU junior high school maintains a safe learning climate for our students. Misbehavior will not be tolerated. If warranted, disciplinary sanctions will be imposed after due process.” The video can no longer be found online as of this writing. This is the second incident involving AdDU, which is still dealing with the case of a student who died inside the campus on January 10.
