HR Awards recognizes chief HR officer of Newport World Resorts

A DEDICATED professional and a people-centered leader, Ma. Theresa “Terri” Llamas, chief HR officer of Newport World Resorts won the Best HR Leader award for this year’s HR Tech Fest Awards in Singapore.

She stood out on the prestigious global stage for demonstrating excellent leadership qualities and setting a benchmark in the HR industry. With every employee’s best interest at heart, this leader fosters a transformative and productive workplace culture for dreams to thrive and prosper.

Llamas reiterated the crucial and hefty role of HR leaders during her acceptance speech.

“It is my honor to receive this prestigious award that recognizes the achievements and efforts that the HR team and I have done together. As HR practitioners, we pride ourselves in our ability to operate strategically to strike that delicate balance of fulfilling the goals of the organization in a way that also adds value to the people.”

As chief HR officer, Llamas has been at the forefront of various employee engagement programs that empower over 4,700 employees in the country’s premier integrated resort.

Many of the HR team initiatives centered around the employee’s well-being and the company’s sustainability efforts such as the search for iLOVEarth Greenfluencers; the quarterly Circle of Excellence Awards recognizing outstanding employees; the electrifying party-hopping celebration Hopopalooza, volunteer activities and donation drives for the community, and many more.

The HR Tech Fest Awards celebrated the excellence of some of Asia’s top HR leaders, teams and organizations. A total of 22 finalists across a diverse range of sectors competed for top honors across eight award categories, with the

winners chosen for demonstrating excellence in their respective categories.
