RoRo trips launched for Cebu-Dumangas route

ANEW route for seagoing passengers of Cebu and Dumangas has recently opened with the maiden voyage of MV Esperanza Star, a roll on, roll off (RoRo) vessel owned by Kho Shipping Lines.

According to the Port Management Office Panay-Guimaras, the MV Esperanza Star arrived last March 22 at the Ramp 2 of Port of Dumangas carrying 17 passengers and trucks.

The vessel will serve the Cebu Pier 4 to Dumangas, Iloilo route three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while the return trip to Cebu will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

It will depart from Cebu Pier 4 at around 5 p.m. while the return trip from Dumangas will depart at 8 p.m.

The passenger rates for Economy Class are P1,500 and P1,800 for Tourist Class.

Meanwhile, Cargo Rates are placed at P10,000 for 4-wheel trucks, P14,000 for 6-wheel trucks and P18,000 for 10-wheel trucks.

MV Esperanza Star is a 64-meter vessel weighing 1,950 gross tons. It has bed bunks and other accommodations for passengers.
