Bulacan province dominates CLRAA 2023

CITY OF MALOLOS: Bulakenyo athletes returned in the field of sports after the Covid-19 pandemic with a bang as Bulacan emerged as the overall champion in the recently concluded Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) meet held in various playing venues in Bulacan and Nueva Ecija.

Bulacan collected 60 golds, 39 silvers and 30 bronzes to rule the elementary division and won 44 golds, 29 silvers and 25 bronzes to top the secondary division.

Bataan finished runnerup in the elementary level with a 16-22-21 tally.

In the secondary level, both Olongapo City and the province of Nueva Ecija collected 22 gold medals each but the former placed second overall by virtue of having 23 silver medals compared to the latter’s eight.

The gold medal winners from the CLRAA meet will represent the region in the Palarong Pambansa slated in Marikina City from July 29 to August 5.

Brimming with pride, Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando congratulated the young Bulakenyo athletes not only for their outstanding performances but also for showcasing discipline, commitment and teamwork during the competition.

The governor also wished the young athletes well when they compete in the Palarong Pambansa against the best student athletes in the country.
