JINS marks milestone in the Philippines

BY CHRISTINA ALPAD

WHEN prominent Japanese eyewear brand JINS opened its first Philippine store in 2018, customers were treated to functional, stylish and lightweight eyewear choices.

What’s more, the easy and fast process of choosing and taking home a new pair in just one visit resonated with the local market. In a few years, JINS has expanded and now boasts seven physical branches on top of an online store.

To mark its fifth successful year in the country, JINS hosted a grand event at its latest store in SM Mall of Asia. Executives from JINS and Suyen Corporation — the company that brought the eyewear brand to the Philippines — as well as local celebrities, avid gamers, and lifestyle and fashion content creators, joined the celebration.

The gathering also served as a platform to introduce JINS Philippines’ first-ever brand ambassador, distinguished broadcast journalist and television presenter Rico Hizon.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the JINS family. When my wife and I went to JINS’ Shibuya shop five years ago, we immediately bought our pairs,” Hizon said.

The anchor then boasted that he now has 15 to 20 JINS pairs that he wears interchangeably.

“I love the shapes, sizes, all the wonderful colors of my glasses. They make me look smart, sharp, accessible and approachable on air,” he beamed.

Finally, Hizon said that he is proud to be the brand’s first-ever local ambassador because he believes in the company’s core values.

“It is an ethical company — it has a good corporate social responsibility, it cares for the environment, has a sustainable program and it values diversity and inclusion,” Hizon elaborated.

On the sidelines of the event, JINS Brand Manager Razy Rose Estella explained what makes Hizon the perfect brand ambassador.

“He has been one of our regular customers in JINS Philippines, I believe, since 2009. We wanted someone who actually loves the brand to represent it because we want to be more authentic and organic,” Estella noted.

In addition to this significant announcement, JINS Philippines took the opportunity to unveil another milestone — the highly anticipated Doraemon Collection.

This new line of eyewear draws inspiration from the beloved Japanese anime character, Doraemon, aiming to transport wearers back to simpler times.

The Doraemon Collection promises to captivate fans and fashion enthusiasts alike with its blend of timeless style, cuttingedge technology, and playful design elements, offering a sense of individuality and confidence.

During the event, guests had the chance to explore JINS’ elegant and modern store and experience the entire range of eyewear offerings, including the newly launched collection.

JINS Philippines’ 5th-anniversary celebration stood as a testament to its unwavering commitment to excellence, style and innovation. Through its diverse range of eyewear options and the unwavering support of its loyal customers, the brand continues to empower individuals to embrace their unique sense of style while prioritizing their eye health.

To explore the brand’s collections, visit JINS Philippines’ branches in SM Aura, SM Makati, SM Megamall, Robinsons Manila, SM North EDSA, Trinoma, and SM Mall of Asia.
