Water Flow Foundation launches on World Water Day 2023

WATER Flow Foundation Inc. (WFF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting access to clean water and preserving water resources, announced its official launch on World Water Day 2023.

With a mission to drive accelerated change and help build sustainable communities, WFF will partner with global and local organizations, governments, communities, and individuals to ensure clean water access for all.

“We are thrilled to launch Water Flow Foundation Inc. and join the global movement to accelerate change towards water sustainability,” said Chie Malaki, co-founder. “Access to clean water is a fundamental human right, and it is our mission to create a world where everyone has access to clean and safe water.”

In the Philippines, WHO and Unicef reported in 2020 that at least 46.64 percent of Filipinos have access to basic improved water sources — piped water, boreholes, or tube wells, protected dug wells or springs, rainwater, and packaged water — that are safe but requires at least 30 minutes of travel back and forth to collect.

To address this situation, WFF’s initiatives will include implementing clean water solutions in underserved and remote communities, sharing sustainable water practices, and partnering with local governments and organizations to promote water preservation.

The foundation aims to drive change by funding water projects, collaborating with the communities and various groups, and advocating for policies that support water conservation and sustainability.

“We are proud of the work that we have accomplished so far, and we are committed to make a difference in the community. We will use our learnings from our past projects and inputs from specialists, and other groups will also be taken into account for our future projects. With your support we can achieve our goal of ensuring that every community has access to safe water,” said Geegee Ranchez, programs development manager.
