Philwater 2022 showcases innovations and solutions on water and sanitation

THE Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA) will hold its 28th International Conference and Exhibition dubbed as Philwater 2022 on Oct. 19-21, 2022 at Widus Hotel, in Clark, Pampanga.

PWWA president and Philwater 2022 over-all chairman, Atty. Vicente M. Joyas said that the 28th exhibition carried the theme, “Global Innovations and Solutions on Water and Sanitation,” showcases water technology businesses with especially promising products and services on water supply technology, wastewater treatment, modern water applications and concept, advanced metering infrastructure, water quality instruments and many more.

He added that the event will also feature technical presentations that demonstrate groundbreaking, cutting-edge, and sophisticated ways to use water resources sustainably to benefit the country, the economy, and the environment.

Secretary Manuel Bonoan of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will deliver the keynote speech during the opening ceremony. Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. and Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo will welcome both local and international delegates of said event. Guest Speakers include Governor Dennis Delta Garcia Pineda, Province of Pampanga, and Rep. Wilbert Lee, AGRI Partylist.

Joyas said that the plenary session includes topics related to health and safety, policies, water security and sanitation initiatives, water supply technology, and water resilience and sustainability to be discussed by Usec Rosario Vergeire, Dept. of Health (DoH); Usec Luis Meinrado Pangulayan, Dept. of Agrarian Reform (DAR); Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr., 3rd District, Province of Negros Oriental; Azuma Toshihiro, head, Water Supply Div., Pharmaceutical Safety and Environmental Health Bureau, Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, Japan; Ramoncito Fernandez, president, Maynilad; Atty. Patrick Lester Ty, chief regulator, MWSS RO; Eileen Dela Vega, officer-in-charge, Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA); and LandBank of the Philippines.

The three-day event will conduct technical sessions chaired by Engr. Rico Ongcoy with Maynilad Water Academy Exec. Director, Engr.
