NutriAsia, DENR renew partnership for Refill Revolution

NUTRIASIA, the country’s top producer of condiments and sauces, continued its support of Refill Revolution, a project by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) aimed at helping reduce single-use plastic consumption in the country.

At Refill Revolution stations, residents brought recycled singleuse plastic bottles and refilled it with their choice of condiments and sauces at discounted prices.

The DENR recently partnered with the San Fernando government to set up a refilling station at the city’s covered court. Employees of NutriAsia’s Marilao plant brought batches of favorite brands such as Datu Puti vinegar and soy sauce as well as Golden Fiesta cooking oil to accommodate over 1,000 participants.

“Being part of Refill Revolution allowed us to enhance the value we give our customers. We take immense pride in this opportunity to help Filipinos learn more about sustainability practices that they can use at home,” said James Lim, NutriAsia senior group category head of Corporate Marketing and Communications.

NutriAsia’s support of the project was rooted in its company values of malasakit (compassion) and teamwork that encouraged employees to do their part in caring for the environment and working together to help promote sustainable lifestyle practices.

Key individuals who participated in the program were Wilson Trajeco, regional director of the Environmental Management Bureau Region 3 (EMB R3); Andresito Cabalar, chief of Finance and Administrative Division EMB R3; Noel Lacadin, regional director of Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region 3; and Laudemir Salac of DENR Region 3 Management Services.
