SINGER, actress, and host Sofi Fermazi, along with actress, model, and host Nicky Gilbert, are newest faces to watch out for in the Philippine entertainment industry. These talented young artist are members of the NET25 Star Center Management Batch 1.
Fermazi captured the hearts of many when she sang the viral jingle for former Manila City mayot Francisco “Isko” Moreno during the 2022 Presidential Election.
The 18-year-old’s distinct voice also graced the jingle for Aliw Broadcasting Teleradio’s “Pilipinas Ngayon Na!” She was even selected as one of the Filipino singers to promote a Bruno Mars concert. Showcasing versatility, she has hosted the “Millennials Lifestyle” show and dazzled audiences with her performances at Okada awarding events and various brand events.
Gilbert, meanwhile, is a multifaceted talent with a diverse portfolio. Her recent projects include hosting live awarding events at Okada and hosting digital shows like “Simply Exquisite.”
The 22-year-old also worked as a television and digital ad model for brands like Insular Life, Gogo Express and Belinda Bags. She was also featured in the Net25 Summer Station ID.
Fermazi and Gilbert’s showbiz journey began at Gleam Artists Management and MPJ Entertainment Productions’s acting workshop led by actor, director and events organizer Perry Escaño.
Fermazi demonstrated her skills in singing and acting, while Gilbert displayed potential in acting, hosting, dancing, and modeling.
“I saw their hard work and how dedicated they are to being artists. They trained for three months, so I’m confident that this is the right time for them to step out into the entertainment industry,” Escaño shared in an intimate media conference.
Fermazi and Gilbert were then introduced to the public in August 2022 as hosts of “Millennials Lifestyle” and “Simply Exquisite.”
Their next milestone was the Net25 Batch 1 Star Center Artist Management audition in October of the same year. There, they competed against 300 hopefuls but they stood out to become part of the center’s first batch of fresh talents.
The two rising stars expressed their gratitude and enthusiasm for their journey.
“We are grateful to be part of this family and to have the chance to grow in this industry. This opportunity is rare. We auditioned, and I know we waited a bit long to begin our workshops, but I’m just super happy that we’re able to do these things now and hopefully in the future as well,” Fermazi shared.
“For me, being in a big network like Net25 is a blessing. It’s been my since I was a kid to be an actress. I learned a lot with all the workshops. It’s such a blessing and an
opportunity,” Gilbert said.
A supportive network of talent
Fermazi and Gilbert have not only found success but also lifelong friendships within their network of 30 fellow talents. Fermazi noted, “We created a bond together through our workshops, acting, dancing, and speech. It’s really fulfilling to be with such kind people, and I’m really grateful to be co-artists with them.” Meanwhile, Gilbert emphasized the collaborative spirit among the talents saying, “It’s like a family in there. You help each other; if you feel that you can’t do it, they will help you. We’re all equal and there’s no competition — we help each other with what’s our weaknesses and strengths.” The talented young individuals had also expressed gratitude for the privilege of working with their Star Center head Eric Quizon.
“He is very charismatic. I remember during our photoshoot, he was actively directing our poses, even the challenging ones. It’s truly fascinating to witness his work because he isn’t just a director; he was also a model, and it’s wonderful to see his passion for his work,” Fermazi said. Gilbert chimed in, adding, “He is very cheerful. We genuinely enjoy his company. When he teaches us, he imparts inspirational messages, and even off-camera, he engages with us in a playful manner, making our work with him enjoyable.” As Fermazi and Gilbert begin their exciting journey with NET25 Star Center Management, the future looks brighter than ever for the young stars.
